The XE held its social for Engineers Week on Wednesday February 19th. The members participated in a paper structure competition. Each team was given a single piece of paper, and twelve inches of tape to try and build the tallest possible structure. In order to win, the structure would also need to stand on its own accord for fifteen seconds, and no paper could be taped to the table. The competition was held between three teams, Seniors, Juniors, and Sophomore and Junior pledges. The Seniors came in third place, with a structure that was built to 25 inches, however it was not able to stand for fifteen seconds, placing them behind other teams whose structure was able to stand. The pledges placed second with a paper structure standing 20.5 inches. The Juniors were able to come out on top by building a structure that stood at 30.75 inches! As an added bonus the winning team was able to have the first pick of the celebratory donuts available.
