The following honors must be met before a potential sophomore candidate is considered for membership:
- Ranking in the top two of their civil engineering class
- Grade Point Average of at least 3.75
The following honors must be met before a potential junior or senior candidate is considered for membership:
- Ranking in the top third of their civil engineering class
- Grade Point Average of at least 3.0
The following classwork must be completed before a potential candidate is considered for membership:
- Completed at least 10 units of classwork (combined)
- Completed at least two consecutive semesters at TCNJ with at least 3 units per semester
- Sophomore class requirement: Enrolled in CIV 251
- Junior class requirements: Completed CIV 251 and enrolled in at least two junior level classes
- Senior class requirement: Enrolled in CIV 495
The following actions must be completed before a candidate is eligible for induction:
- Submitted Application Form
- Completed Civil Engineering Department service:
- Attend and help during an approved event (Open House, Accepted Students Day or other approved) or complete other approved Department service
- Completed Community service:
- Complete at least three hours of community service (service work up to 6 months before initiation will be accepted)
- One hour of community service must be a tutoring session
- Completed a TCNJ XE Fundraising Event
- Attended TCNJ XE sponsored technical seminar
- Attended TCNJ XE sponsored social event
- Documented all activities using Activities Form
- Submitted signed Recommendation Form (see form for requirements)
- Completed TCNJ XE Scrapbook class project
- Paid membership fee (total $150; includes chapter initiation fee and lifetime national membership fee)
