Engineers Week Social

TCNJ XE chapter celebrated Engineers Week 2021 on February 24 by hosting an Engineering Shark Tank competition event. We tasked teams of students with creating a product or device that will help limit the spread of Covid-19.

Awards were given as follows:

Team: Dream Team (Hunter Kelly, Zach Niethe, Sofia Zapata, and Sean Healy) / Product: Scuba Suit / Award: Sharks Choice

The construction Scuba Suit protects a worker from any airborne disease as well as allows them to breathe underwater (in case of high GWT or if they fall into a pool).

Team: Team 3 (Shivani Savalia, Zach Hauptman, and Michelle Andrascik) / Product: The Social Construct / Awards: Popular Choice, Dr. Krstic’s Grand Award

The Social Construct is a watch-like device which notifies the wearer when social distancing is not being followed and completes contact tracing if Covid is detected. The device is equipped with heat and vibration sensors and can be attached to a hard hat or worn as a watch.

Team: Covid Crusaders (Bob Dinger, John Costello, and Alex Iorio) / Product: Covid Extraction Satelite / Award: Most Creative

The Space Satellite zaps any person who is detected to have Covid on a job site.
