Chi Epsilon 2020 National Convention

From October 21st to October 24th, the XE TCNJ Chapter attended the Chi Epsilon 2020 Virtual National Convention. The chapter faculty advisor, Dr. Krstic, chapter president Hunter Kelly, chapter vice president John Costello and chapter Secretary Sofia Zapata attended the event. At the convention, the TCNJ representatives attended various events concerning the new Chi Epsilon Constitution and review of the Bylaws as well as the Metropolitan District Caucus.

Invitation Social – Welcome Back Everyone!

TCNJ XE hosted it’s invitation social on September 9th, 2020. XE welcomed newly eligible members, and welcomed back current members, to discuss the role the club plays in the community, and its goals for the future. XE Marshall, Alex Iorio, prepared a fun pictionary style online game for members to participate in. Junior pledge Lewis Mora won the game, ahead of President Hunter Kelly in second, and Vice President John Costello in third. Thank you to everyone who attended, we look forward to a great semester!

Tutoring

TCNJ XE will be holding its first installment of weekly tutoring sessions this upcoming Tuesday, 9/1, at 8:30 PM. Tutoring sessions will occur on Zoom, every Tuesday at 8:30 PM, and be conducted by TCNJ XE members for freshman Civil Engineering students. Please stop by if you need help with any work, have questions, or just to say hello! We look forward to seeing you there!

Mayo Business Plan Competition

This past Thursday, April 23, 2020, the Mayo Business Plan Competition took place. Congratulations to TCNJ XE Executive Board member Alex Iorio who came in first place as a part of Team Vortex, along with fellow TCNJ engineering student Jake DeGennaro. Team Vortex received the $30,000 grand prize for developing a device that helped local fishermen reduce their carbon footprint while maintaining and disposing of the waste line. Congratulations again to Team Vortex for placing in first, and hats off to Alex for proudly representing XE in the community.

Proud to Be a Civil Engineer Day – April 10

This Friday, April 10th, XE celebrate Proud to Be a Civil Engineer Day by hosting a Jeopardy style trivia night. The game consisted of categories ranging from Civil Engineering knowledge, to music trivia. Thank you to everyone who joined us for a fun night, and congratulations to our Jeopardy winners:

XE – TCNJ Student Organization of the Week

TCNJ XE has been selected as the TCNJ Organization of the Week by the Office of Student Affairs! XE would like to thank the Office of Student Affairs for recognizing all of the hard work that is done in both the local and campus community! XE has continued to participate in helping it’s local communities through fundraisers, service activities, and social events. The Office of Student Affairs has also recognized XE with an Instagram post that acknowledges the mission of XE, and the pillars of the organization that are demonstrated through the club’s activity in the community. The post can be seen below, as well as on the Student Affairs Instagram page @tcnj_students. Watershed Institute Service

On Saturday, March 7th, TCNJ XE participated in a community service activity at the Watershed Institute in Pennington, New Jersey. XE members helped clear areas with invasive species, in order to be able to plant native plants in the future. XE would like to thank the Watershed Institute for providing a great opportunity to give back to the local community, and the club looks forward to a continued relationship in the future!
