On November 26th, 2019, Chi Epsilon held its annual pie eating contest. Winners for the second straight year were Andrew Agresto and Austin Farnum. Representing Theta Tau and coming in second were juniors Axel and John. Finally, coming in third were junior members Hunter Kelly and Robert Dinger. Congratulations to all that won and we look forward to hosting this event again next year.

On November, 23rd, Chi Epsilon had its 2nd Fall Induction Ceremony. The first part of the ceremony consisted of the student inductees being inducted as student members. These students consisted of Andrew Agresto, John Costello, Robert Dinger, Mark Esposito, Austin Farnum, Alexander Iorio, Hunter Kelly, Amanda Stephenson, John Thompson and Sofia Zapata. Next, the alumni members were inducted. The alumni inducted were Nicholas Izzo (‘13), PE, Jeffrey Laux (‘11), PE, Ashley Napovier (‘14), and Edward Wilkes (‘07), PE. After this, Raymond Mankbadi, PE was inducted as a chapter honor member. Finally, Erin Lafferty (’18) and Lauren Santullo (’17) were both inducted as chapter trustees. Congratulations to all that were inducted.
After the ceremony, a banquet was held. Chi Epsilon would like to thank the civil engineering faculty, chapter honor members and Dean Scheiner for attending the ceremony and banquet.

On Saturday, November 9th, members of Chi Epsilon participated in a community service event at the Watershed Institute in Pennington, NJ. Members were tasked with moving trees to a deer sanctuary. Members also cleared and spread seeds in the forest. This continues Chi Epsilon’s relationship with the Watershed Institute as we have now volunteered with the organization multiple times. In all, Chi Epsilon is proud to give back to the local community once again.

This past week pledges of Chi Epsilon participated in pledge week. We would like to congratulate all of the pledges that were accepted into our organization! A photo of the Fall 2019 pledge call is included below. Again, congratulations to everyone!

On October 30th, Chi Epsilon and ASCE held a joint event for Halloween. In this event, both groups filled Halloween pumpkin pails with different types of candies and goodies. The pumpkin pails were then given to Highland Park Elementary School in Upper Darby, PA. Chi Epsilon is proud to be able to help the community while taking part in this exciting community service event.

On Friday, October 25th, Chi Epsilon had a social event at the Corn Maze on Howell Living Farms in Hopewell. Participating members were seniors Luke Aboff, Charles Turi, Kush Patel and Dr. Krstic. All participating members successfully made it through the corn maze and had a great bonding experience.
