Kiva Donation

TCNJ Chi Epsilon has made a donation through Kiva, a non-profit crowd funding website that allows organizations to loan money to low-level entrepreneurs. This year our members have decided to make the loan out to Henry Muhotho, a Ugandan farmer trying to pay for his children’s schooling. We have had success in lending money to Kiva in the past, as our loan was successfully paid off from last year. TCNJ Chi Epsilon looks forward to continue loaning money with Kiva and, in doing so, changing the world, one loan at a time.

For more information on Henry Muhotho and Kiva, you can visit the link below.

Kiva – Henry Muhotho’s Loan

Kiva is a loan, not a donation. With Kiva you can lend as little as $25 and make a big change in someone’s life.

Congratulations to TCNJ XE honor members, Dr. Nabil Al-Omaishi and Mrs. Robin Kemper

TCNJ Chi Epsilon would like to congratulate Dr. Nabil Al-Omaishi and Mrs. Robin Kemper on achieving the title of honor member. Both individuals are pivotal members for the Department of Civil Engineering at TCNJ and are very deserving of this title.

Dr. Nabil Al-Omaishi has been teaching at TCNJ since the dawn of the Civil Engineering Department in 2003.   He has served many roles for the Department over the years, including the founding department chair from 2003 until 2011. Dr. Al-Omaishi has led the Civil Engineering Department through many vital periods in it’s history, without him, it is quite possible that Chi Epsilon would not be in existence at TCNJ. We would like to thank Dr. Al-Omaishi for his hard work and leadership and congratulate him on this achievement.

Mrs. Robin Kemper has served on a diverse amount of projects in her rich career. With this comes a vast amount of experience and knowledge that she unequivocally loves to share with the civil engineering industry. Mrs. Kemper has been a crucial member of the Civil Engineering Department serving on the Civil Engineering Industrial Advisory Board. She has helped bridge the gap between curriculum and industry at TCNJ. Chi Epsilon would like to thank Mrs. Robin Kemper for her generous contributions, guidance and helping hand with our students, XE chapter and Civil Engineering Department. Congratulations to Mrs. Robin Kemper for this achievement.

TCNJ’s Steel Monument Plaque

Olivia Cleale and Colin O’Hara, junior CEHS members, took on fixing the plaque back onto the steel monument outside of Armstrong Hall. The plaque was anchored to the concrete with bolt anchors which were threaded into place. The spacers were designed on the lathe so that the plaque sits 1 inch off of the concrete, which adds dimension to the design. Check out the completed installation of the Steel Monument plaque in the pictures below.
