Technical Seminar

On April 5th TCNJXE hosted our Chapter Honor Member Mr. Joe Ettore, Monmouth County Engineer. Mr. Ettore was accompanied by a TCNJ graduate Mike Ruggiero. Mr. Ettore presented on the Monmouth County Project to replace the existing Rumson-Sea Bright Movable Bridge S-32 (a double-leaf bascule bridge) on Rumson Road (CR 520) over the Shrewsbury River which serves as a critical transportation link between the Boroughs of Rumson and Sea Bright, as well as a coastal evacuation route for the Sea Bright coastal community. We thank Mr. Ettore for his time and a very interesting presentation.

Accepted Students Day

TCNJ XE president Dora Krstic and senior member Paige Rocco represented TCNJ XE at the Accepted Students Day on April 1st. We were proud to showcase our chapter and talk to prospective students about our experiences as students at TCNJ.

XE National Conference

On March 10th, TCNJ XE President Dora Krstic and Vice President Jill Stanton, along with Faculty Advisor Dr. Krstic, attended the virtual Chi Epsilon National Conference. The morning session was a plenary session to overview past and upcoming activities of Chi Epsilon. Maria Lehman, ASCE National President was a keynote speaker. Dr. Welker, TCNJ XE Fall 2022 Honor Member, was featured together with another four Honor Members. The afternoon session offered multiple tracks for attendees to move between as they wanted to. Dr. Krstic listened in on the XE Initiation & Ritual chat, while Dora joined a breakout room with other students and faculty advisors to exchange ideas and success stories about the club.

HomeFront Service

HomeFront’s mission is to end homelessness in Central New Jersey by harnessing the caring, resources and expertise of the community.

We would like to thank everyone who donated hygiene products for HomeFront at our General Body Meeting on 3/8. TCNJ XE is very proud of the generosity of our members! We also donated diapers and baby wipes that will cover needs for three children for a month. A special thank you goes to our candidates Ethan and David for taking the donations to HomeFront.

Engineers Week Social

TCNJ XE chapter celebrated Engineers Week with an Engineering Shark Tank competition. Teams were tasked with a redesign of the Armstrong student projects room. The winning team consisting of Josh Romero, Dave Cardenas and Daniel Schiariti received a coveted K-cup for their tropical themed redesign. Thank you all that attended!

KIVA Reinvestment

TCNJ XE reinvested our Kiva funds in support of Fenti Ratnasari from Serang, Indonesia. This is our fourth reinvestment after we funded borrowers in Paraguay, Uganda, and Vietnam. This year’s loan will go towards school expenses for Fenti’s son. We are proud to help students from every economic background pursue education.

Welcome Back Everyone!

Chi Epsilon members and prospective candidates enjoyed the semester’s first invitation social on February 1st where they had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with Chi Epsilon history, compete in a Civil Engineering-themed Kahoot game, and enjoy some local pizza. What a fantastic way to kick off the semester!

Pie Eating Contest

TCNJ XE finished off the semester with an Apple Pie Eating Contest social. Congratulations go to Domenic Minando  (first place) representing Electrical and Computer Engineering Department and Ismael Nunez (second place) representing Student Government. While TCNJ XE didn’t place this semester we are ready for a rematch next year.
