TCNJ XE seniors Erin Lafferty (team leader). Tommy Cunningham and Jennifer Puschak under advisement of TCNJ XE honor member Dr. Nabil Al-Omaishi won first place in the Metropolitan Region steel bridge competition! After two years of placing second TCNJ team finally took home a win and is advancing to the national competition at Southern Illinois University on June 1, 2019. CONGRATULATIONS!

On Thursday, April 25th TCNJ Chi Epsilon co-sponsored the Engineering Trivia Bowl with the TCNJ’s National Society of Black Engineers. Senior members Ashley and Anthony, along with juniors Colin and Victor, took home second place at this fun event that put their schooling to the test! Chi Epsilon would like to thank NSBE for organizing this event and for their generous engineering paper prizes!

On Monday, April 15th TCNJ Chi Epsilon participated in the 6th annual PB&J race hosted by TCNJ Student United Way. Representatives from Chi Epsilon competed to create the most PB&J sandwiches out of all the groups that participated. In all, Chi Epsilon finished in 4th place. All the sandwiches were later donated to the Trenton food bank. Chi Epsilon would like to thank Student United Way for giving us the opportunity to give back to the community.
On Wednesday, April 10th, civil engineering students at TCNJ celebrated “Proud to be a Civil Engineer day”. In order to commemorate the day students and faculty wore various School of Engineering shirts. Thank you for all that showed their pride and those that bought our polos!
On Wednesday, April 10th, TCNJ CEHS conducted a tutoring session for sophomores enrolled in Strength of Materials. Juniors Brian Rennie, Chuck Turi, Victor Mazariegos, Colin O’Hara and Luke Aboff answered questions and gave tips to the sophomores that attended this session. Thank you to all that participated in this event. Being leaders on campus, members of CEHS enjoy helping and teaching others.

TCNJ CEHS has recently sent two representatives to help with the School of Engineering open houses. Juniors Kush Patel and Steve Villaverde were sent on Lion’s Day to assist Dr. Nabil Al-Omaishi in his presentation to perspective students looking to major in civil engineering at TCNJ. Thank you to Steve and Kush for their service to the Civil Engineering Department.
